TOKYO: Casio has released a durable, multifunction watch designed for survival in extreme conditions. The latest G-SHOCK shock-resistant watch is dust- and mud-resistant and is designed for “sandy environments,” according to Casio.

It is called the MUDMASTER GWG-B1000 and has strong exterior components for greater protection in extreme conditions.

More importantly, it can help you survive in such conditions. It is the first G-SHOCK equipped with a triple sensor that measures compass bearing, altitude/ barometric pressure and temperature. It also has solar charging and radio wave reception, that also comes with smartphone connectivity.

When the watch is paired with a smartphone, the dedicated app on the phone offers easy operation of various useful features, including “Location Indicator,” which points the inset dial indicator hand in the direction of a location recorded on the map within the app, and “Mission Log,” which records activity history. It has a bearing memory function, automatic horizontal and an orientation correction function. The altitude measurement function has a range of minus 700 meters to plus 10,000 meters.

The protector parts at the 12 and 6 o’clock positions are designed with a special coating to guard the watch glass. The watch is water resistant to a depth of 200 meters.
