Sanrio’s iconic character Hello Kitty is collaborating with the Japanese retailer UNIQLO to release a special collection celebrating the character’s 50th anniversary.
Inspired by the 1970s, the era Hello Kitty was born in, the collection features a retro aesthetic with a mixture of lavender and dark blue, drifting away from the traditional pink hues that are typically seen in Hello Kitty merchandise.
The collection is not only limited to shirts but also pajama pants with a range of patterns, featuring not only Hello Kitty but also other Sanrio characters such as My Cinnamoroll, Kuromi, and My Melody.
The collection will be available on March 25, with prices starting at 2,743¥.
Sanrio has also collaborated with other brands to celebrate the character’s 50th anniversary, such as Crocs.
