Japan is once again re-inventing the wheel with a new food product: sliced mayonnaise.

Japanese company Bourbon is going to start selling packs of mayo slices March 2 for around 199¥ ($1.80).

The idea came a few years after Bourbon launched sliced chocolate, in order to avoid shredding slices of bread while attempting to spread chocolate such as Nutella.

The mayonnaise slices come in different flavors, such as tuna and spicy cod roe flavored condiments.

The company is also launching dessert flavored slices including apple butter sheets, which also contain white chocolate.

The sliced products will only be available in Japan.
