DUBAI: Dubai’s renowned Japanese restaurant, TakaHisa, is collaborating with the world’s first Indian-Japanese fusion restaurant, INJA, for a one-of-a-kind event that will explore the two cuisines in a unique dining experience on Saturday and Sunday.

Priced at 110,048 yen, the event will offer a 12-course menu that offers delicious Japanese dishes mixed with diverse Indian flavors.

The Indian flavors of INJA will be curated by chef Adwait Anantwar. Born and raised in Maharashtra, the chef began his culinary journey in India and moved to the UAE in 2014.

He was inspired by Japanese cuisine during the lockdown in 2020, which led him to create INJA. Through the restaurant, the chef is able to showcase his creativity by blending the two cultures in an innovative way.

Furthermore, TakaHisa’s chefs, Chef Takashi Namekata, who is known as Chef Taka, and Chef Hisao Ueda, who is known as Chef Hisa, bring over 12 years of expertise to this collaboration.

Chef Taka meticulously sources premium seafood from the renowned Toyosu Market to craft exquisite sushi omakase experiences. Chef Hisa offers unparalleled beef omakase offerings.

“Collaborating with INJA allows us at TakaHisa to explore a collaborative fusion of flavors that celebrates the unique culinary traditions of both Japan and India,” said Mika Ueda, General Manager of TakaHisa. “This event is a testament to our commitment to innovation and excellence in the culinary arts.”

Taking place in TakaHisa at Banyan Tree, the event promises an exceptional dining experience that takes guests on a journey filled with delicious flavors of the two district culinary traditions.
