TOKYO: While there are several coffee vending machines that allow customers to view the whole process from grinding beans to making the coffee, Japan has a new, popular “see-through” vending machine: orange juicers.

“Feed ME Orange” uses a vending machine that allows customers to watch the juicing process. The oranges are automatically cut, pressed, and squeezed into a cup, all within about 40 seconds. Each cup uses three to four fresh oranges, offering 100 percent pure orange juice with no additives.

The variety and origin of the oranges change according to the season, allowing customers to enjoy a wide range of flavors throughout the year.

“IJOOZ” utilizes a vending machine from a Singapore-based IoT technology company and started in Japan in April 2023. It uses four whole oranges to produce 280 ml of juice, with no added sugar, water, or preservatives, and is available for 350 yen ($2.30).
