DUBAI: On Sept. 21 and 22, renowned Japanese restaurant TakaHisa joined forces with Thai Michelin restaurant Le Du, voted the number one restaurant in Asia in 2023, as they combined their world-class techniques for a remarkable fine dining experience.

Priced at about 120,000 yen (or AED 3,000) per person, the Omakase experience offered guests a unique and curated menu that mixed Japanese and Thai dishes in an innovative way.

Guests enjoyed a variety of dishes, such as Scallop and Kang-Kua curry, which included a grilled scallop with coconut milk mousse, chili and acacia power with smoked oyster wrapped with shiso leaf, as well as Matsutake Nike Maki, which included a Matsutake Japanese king mushroom wrapped with TakaHisa’s signature Kobe beef and tofu.

Other dishes included a Hikkaido hairy crab mixed with homemade salmon roe and a steamed Kinki rockfish with ponzu sauce. To conclude the experience, guests indulged in a rolled cake with natural brown cane sugar from Okinawa prefecture.

TakaHisa is renowned for its expertise in sushi and wagyu and is headed by Chefs Taka and Hisa. Their menu features premium seafood sourced from Japan’s Toyosu Fish Market and A5 Kobe beef of the highest grade.
