Japan’s Uhuru Corporation signs deal with Al Shabab FC to boost fan experiences

TOKYO: Japanese company Uhuru Corporation said it has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) with Saudi Arabian soccer club Al Shabab FC, with the aim of using technology to enhance the experience of sports fans in Saudi Arabia.

Uhuru participated in the recent Japan-Saudi Vision 2030 Ministerial Roundtable held in Riyadh, where the deal with Al Shabab was announced.

Among those attending the announcement were Japan’s Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs MATSUMOTO Hisashi; Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry MUTO Yoji; Uhuru CEO SONODA Takashi; Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Investment Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih; and Al Shabab FC President Mohamed Al Munajem.

Uhuru and Al Shabab FC are aiming to enhance fan experiences in Saudi Arabia and help grow the local sports industry.

Uhuru is known for supporting the digital transformation of companies, government agencies and municipalities using cloud platforms such as Salesforce and its own services. In the sports sector, the company has been recognized for optimizing the fan experience and enhancing fan engagement at professional baseball and soccer stadiums in Japan.

As host of the FIFA World Cup 2034, Saudi Arabia is expected to see significant growth in its sports sector.

Al Shabab FC is one of Saudi Arabia’s oldest and most successful football clubs, based in Riyadh, having won the Saudi Pro League six times. The team is guided by Ballon d’Or winner Pavel Nedvěd as its sporting director.
