Innovation and sustainability go hand in hand when it comes to new creations in Japan.

One such Japanese concept is the Eco Cycle Store, which is a mass storage unit for bikes around cities.

According to Eco Cycle’s official website, “space in cities is at a premium and traditional storage methods are inadequate to satisfy the growing number of cyclists who are also looking for security and to prevent theft.”

The storage units, which were created by Japanese company Giken Seisakushom, can store up to 204 bicycles above or below ground and can be retrieved within 13 seconds.

“Whether installed in public spaces or within new residential and commercial buildings it provides the ideal solution for mass storage of bikes in cities,” stated Eco Cycle.

The Eco Cycle Store can easily be integrated into new buildings, and its simple design aids in its quick delivery and construction.

The parking facilities have high volume and density, making more areas for green space and communities around cities.

The operation of the bicycle parking is accessible to all users and helps keep their bikes safe from rain and theft.

Although Japan leads in its public transportation systems and its car manufacturing industry, the Japanese people use bicycles as a popular means of traveling.

However, due to the means of transportation’s popularity, owners often leave them on the sidewalk. Giken Seisakusho created Eco Cycles Stores to solve this problem.
