


DUBAI: The 16th edition of the Japanese Gulf Cup concluded with a thrilling finale at The Sevens Stadium, where the Dubai Japanese Football Club – Dubai Blue emerged as the champion.
The tournament brought together nine Japanese football clubs from across the globe, including teams from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, India, Germany and Thailand.
Consul General of Japan in Dubai IMANISHI Jun Imanishi delivered an inspiring speech at the opening ceremony of the event, highlighting the unifying power of football.
He emphasized how the sport transcends barriers of age, race, gender, culture and nationality, fostering mutual respect among players and fans.
This year’s tournament carried an even greater significance as the UAE declared 2024 as the ‘Year of Community.’
Football served as a platform to strengthen social bonds, promoting inclusivity and bringing together diverse communities through the love of the game.
The tournament witnessed intense competition, sportsmanship and a celebration of Japanese football culture.
The championship was sponsored by Japanese organizations, who also operate in the UAE.
