The 8th Judo Japanese Ambassador’s Cup championship was held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at the UAE Judo Federation Arena in Abu Dhabi.

Over 160 players from nine different Emirati clubs engaged in exciting matches.

Fujairah Martial Arts Club emerged victorious winning the 1st place in the championship followed by Sharjah Sports Club in 2nd place and Sharjah Self Defense Sports Club in 3rd place.

The event was attended by The Japanese Ambassador to the UAE, OKANIWA Ken, Hiroshi Hagiwara, President Director Abu Dhabi, INPEX CORPORATION, Nasser Khalifa Al Budoor, Vice Chairman of the UAE’s Judo Federation, Mohammed Jassim, Assistant Secretary-General of the UAE Judo Federation and Ali Al Yamahi, Board Member.

“Congratulations to the winners of the 8th Judo Japanese Ambassador’s Cup,” said Ambassador Ken Okaniwa. “The winners embodied the values of judo which is respect and discipline. We thank the UAE Judo Federation for continuing to promote the Japanese martial arts.”

“INPEX has been supporting the Judo Japanese Ambassador’s Cup in collaboration with the program organizers, the Japanese Embassy in the UAE and the UAE Judo Federation, since its inception in 2016, and we are honored to support the 8th edition this year,” said Hiroshi Hagiwara.

“We are invited to the Ambassador’s Cup every year, and we are truly excited to see the growth of young Judo players through Judo, which is among the rich traditions of Japan. We remain committed to contributing to the social development of the UAE and building mutual understanding between the UAE and Japan.”
