McLaren’s Senna GTR tearing up Bahrain International Circuit

British Automotive Manufacturer McLaren Automotive launched a new web series titled theMcLaren Tech Club which offers fans and customers insight into the technologies behind the McLaren brand through a series of short films.

The McLaren Tech Club aims to increase their fans’ automotive knowledge through the provision of scrupulous analyses of the characteristics of the cars produced by McLaren, while simultaneously offering them an entertaining and informative platform.  

The new episodes explore the innovative technologies developed by McLaren designers and engineers, which have collectively contributed to the formation of the driving experiences for which the pioneering supercar company is renowned.

“McLaren Tech Club is designed for those who want to delve deeper into the core of every McLaren car while also increasing their automotive knowledge,” McLaren said in a statement.

“The new films explore the innovative technologies developed by McLaren designers and engineers to help deliver the incredible driving experiences for which the pioneering supercar company is renowned,” McLaren added.

The first episode titled How does the McLaren Elva keep you comfortable at 70mph without a windscreen? highlights a feature within the latest McLaren Ultimate Series, the new Elva called the Active Air Management System’ (AAMS). The name of the episode stems from the car’s unique design, which makes it instantly recognisable dur e to the absence of a roof, windows, and windscreen.

For the second episode "What Makes McLaren Senna GTR’s so unique?" Principle Designer Esteban Palazzo dissects the McLaren Senna GTR’s carbon fiber rear wing and elucidates it’s significance, the process of its construction, and the purpose it serves.

“In any other programme, the engineers will come to you with figures they want to achieve. In this particular project, the number was quite large. That number was a big challenge,” Palazzo said. 

After learning about the wing, a trained driver takes the supercar around Bahrain International Circuit, on which the Senna GTR holds the fastest race lap, offering an in-cabin 360-degree video of it tearing up the circuit.
