Starbucks Japan is releasing a line of coffee cups in collaboration with American luxury fashion brand, Kate Spade this December.
The collection is comprised of six cups/bottle options featuring four prints unique to the Kate Spade brand.
Starbucks Japan will be adding two new coffee tumblers and bottles sold for 4,200 yen ($40.17) and two mugs priced at 2,300 yen ($22.09) available online starting Dec. 3.
Kate Spade is a brand that utilizes eye-catching colours and prints to make a statement.
“we value thoughtful details. we think a layer of polished ease looks (and feels) so chic. and to us, modern, sophisticated colors make a personal style statement all their own,” the website states.
Emphasis on colour is made apparent through the Starbucks coffee cup line that employs three prints: a red and black polka-dot print, a colourful cityscape of New York City, rainbow-stripes and finally a black and white cat print.
The Starbucks Japan and Kate Spade collaboration works in alignment with Kate Spade’s underlying mission.
Their website states that “we’ve always stood for optimistic femininity. today we’re a global life and style house filled with handbags, of course. also clothes, shoes, jewelry, home décor, tech accessories and so many other things that you use everyday.”
The coffee mugs are adorned with the cat or the rainbow print, where as the coffee tumblers and bottles are designed with the polka-dot print or New York cityscape.
Starbucks Japan’s website highlights how there are lots of cute and fun designs in this collection and emphasizes their suitability as a holiday gift for someone special.
