Potato crisp brand, Pringles, have introduced a new flavour that integrates the taste of Japan’s traditional fried chicken karaage—a regional delicacy.
The newest flavour, “Karaage Aji” will be introduced on Jan. 25, in a pink bottle illustrated with images of the chicken dish as well as Pringles’ infamous mascot.
Pringles’ newest flavour will combine the taste of chicken, garlic, onion and spices, culinary elements typical of the Japanese dish.
In Japan, chicken karaage can be found at restaurants, street stalls, and diners. The word itself, Karaage, refers to the technique of deep-frying food coated in flour, the chicken can also be seasoned with ingredients like soy sauce, ginger, mirin, sesame oil or oyster sauce.
Aside from this latest flavour, Pringles Japan has also released a few limited time snacks including their London Fish and Chips potato crisps.
Pringles Japan also released regional options including their Kansai limited Takoyaki flavour, Hokkaido limited scallop butter soy sauce flavour, Kyushu limited mentaiko flavour, and lastly their Tokai limited chicken wings flavour.
