Japanese brand, AMBUSH, popular for their jewellery and apparel have collaborated with Japanese manufacturer Iwata Woodwork to release a traditional toy called a Kendama, priced at ¥17,600  ($160).

Kendama’s concept is to learn different grips and perform them often engaging the whole body.

AMBUSH’S take on the toy—typically made up of a handle, cups and a ball– is comprised of natural wood, aluminium foil, and a black ball that are only limited to 20 pieces per day, justifying the hefty price.

AMBUSH began creating experimental jewellery, and still produces rings, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings that use various materials like stones, or cotton to make bracelet and necklace straps, the brand also designs a few pieces that feature the AMBUSH name and logo.

Aside from their jewellery, AMBUSH also creates clothing for both men and women including a range of pullovers, hoodies, t-shirts, among other items like iPhone cases, shoes, masks, and socks.

AMBUSH has collaborated with a number of other brands including NIKE, Converse, Beats by Dr.Dre, and UNDERCOVER, to name a few.

AMBUSH opened their first store on September 2nd 2016, and in 2017 the brand was selected as a finalists for the LVMH PRIZE.
