Customers can also opt for a cup of sorbet ice cream, or a Yakult shake topped with whipped cream. Every item will also be accompanied by a Yakult bottle shaped biscuit.
For those who want to stock up on the Yakult ice cream, customers can purchase a tub of ice cream priced at ¥200, available at some Tokyu Store supermarkets in smaller quantities.
The Yakult brand has gained recognition globally for offering tasty drinks that also have a nutritional advantage by ensuring customers get their daily dose of probiotics.
Founded in 1935, Yakult was manufactured following Dr. Minoru Shirota’s successful work in the field of microbiology and study of lactic acid bacteria.
Dr. Shirota, together with volunteers “developed an inexpensive, goodtasting beverage, so that as many people as possible could benefit from Lactobacillus casei strain Shirota, which reaches the intestines alive and promotes intestinal health. That is how the Yakult lactobacillusbased beverage was born in 1935 and was the beginning of the Yakult that is loved throughout the world,” their official website states.
Japanese brand Yakult is committed to ensure the health and safety of their customers and are continually giving back to the environment and local communities.
