DUBAI: The Japanese Ambassador to Saudi Iwai Fumio has once again made waves on social media as he posted a photo of him and his wife in traditional Saudi Arabian clothing.
Fumio posted a tweet in Arabic saying: “Peace be upon you, good people…Look at us while we are wearing Saudi clothes…we are better today, what do you say? And you are thanked for your long wait.”

The tweet has so far garnered over 2,000 retweets and 9,000 likes, with many Saudi social media users commenting with delight on how great the Ambassador and his wife look.
Fumio was dressed in the traditional ‘thawb,’ a long, ankle length garment similar to a robe. While Mrs. Iwai, fondly nicknamed Um Koji, was wearing a colorful ‘Abaya,’ a cloak covering the whole body.
The Japanese ambassador thanked many of his followers for their kind words regarding their outfits in Arabic.
