The annual Ramen Festival is back with a bang at Sumo Sushi & Bento in Dubai.

At the hugely popular third edition, Sumo Executive Chef Tako will showcase his innovative cooking skills and satisfying flavours of authentic Ramen, a much sought after Japanese dish with noodles. Tako brings with him his expertise from Sapporo, a city on the island prefecture of Hokkaido.

Connoisseurs of Japanese food can try out their old favourites or new bowls of the rich, savoury broth and tender noodles.

The menu caters to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians with delicious alternatives.

There is an array of all-time favourites such as Niku Ramen, Chicken Chashu Ramen, Chicken Miso Ramen, Gyoza Ramen, Seafood Ramen, Tempura Ramen, Veggie Ramen and Sapporo Miso Ramen, all at an affordable price of ¥ 1,200 (Dhs 36) to ¥1,500 (Dhs 49).

Sumo Sushi & Bento also marked the launch of two new Ramens — Birria Ramen and Cheese Ramen to celebrate this special third edition.

Birria is mildly spicy Mexican beef marinated in dried chillies, herbs, chipotles in adobo to add a fiery flavour, and slow-cooked until tender, served in the spicy ramen broth with corn, onions and cilantro. The gorgeous gooey Cheese Ramen is traditional ramen served with a blend of cheese gently floating on the top of the hot ramen. Originally famous in Korea as an adaptation of instant ramen, its popularity has spread across Asia because it’s simple, tasty and filling. Additionally, a choice of 10 best-selling Ramens is available at all Sumo branches.

“Sumo Sushi & Bento stands apart for being a space that highlights Japanese culture and flavours with its exquisite culinary treats. For more than 22 years it has offered new culinary experiences to guests, from the restaurant’s interiors to the food delights. So, indulge in the much-loved ramen ritual this winter,” says Rachel Guerra, Operations Manager, Sumo International Inc. LLC.

Meanwhile, Sumo Sushi & Bento Diners in the digital world can participate in several online activities throughout the festival period and win and enjoy heart-warming Ramens. So, what are you waiting for? Go for the steaming hot staple classic. The Ramen festival, which started on January 16, continues until February 28.
