Japan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Iwai Fumio wished Al-Hilal the very best of luck as they take on UAE’s Al Jazira in the second round of the FIFA Club World Cup on Sunday.
A win for the Saudi Arabian giants will set up a semi-final meeting with European champions Chelsea next Wednesday.
The Riyadh giants are representing Asia after winning a record fourth continental title last November.
Al-Hilal are the most successful club in Asia and Saudi Arabia and that comes at a price – high expectations and constant pressure to win.
But the team are sitting in fourth in the Saudi Professional League and a poor showing in Abu Dhabi would be a huge problem for coach Leonardo Jardim.
