DUBAI: Dubai-based start-up Chauf-fur are the first licensed pet taxi service in the region, offering transport for animals with or without their owners, fully equipped with a reliable team and equipment to make the journey safe and smooth.

Chauf-fur, founded by Nader Moursi, Wael Hassan and Omar Aboushady, provides a 24/7 booking service and assures that the staff are trusted and well prepared. They prioritize safety by using harnesses, pet seatbelts and crates to secure animals on the journey.

They also encourage owners to ride with their pets and bring along any luggage, if necessary.

“Whether it is for a regular daycare visit, or an emergency in the middle of the night, we’ve got you covered! Our primary goal is to transport pets safely, ensuring their ride is both comfortable and enjoyable. Being the first licensed pet taxi in Dubai was so important for us. Being properly licensed gives customers reassurance when they book and ensures procedures set by the government are actively followed,” Hassan said.

The start-up had a soft launch in Nov 2021, giving them the opportunity to test their business model to ensure they would be offering quality service to customers, which they officially launched in Feb. of this year.

“As pet-parents ourselves as well as animal lovers, our business model is designed primarily with pets in mind. Our priority is for their safety and our aim is for them to actually enjoy the ride with us. Appreciating the hard work of rescue organizations, we offer them discounted rates for animals in need and take part in community events wherever we can,” Aboushady told Arab News Japan.

Bookings can be made on the phone or via WhatsApp, and customers can even choose what kind of ride they’re looking for, with prices beginning at 80 AED.

There are also special car rides to or from Dubai Airport, beginning at 300 AED. For those who want to arrange for a city-to-city transfer, customers can expect to pay between 300 to 400 AED.

The start-up also offers two packages including one priced at 1,000 AED and another at 3,000 AED that are outlined on their website.

Anyone looking to book a trip with Chauf-fur needs to provide a copy of their pet’s vaccination card but they assure that the car is sanitized for hygiene purposes.
