Leaders in the world of e-sports and electronic gaming came together at the end of July to join in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia player season and bring the virtual and real worlds together. 

The Japanese e-sports team arrived in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, on July 27, where they practiced and had matches against Saudi teams at the Saudi E-League venue on July 30. They also participated in the Gamers8 activities in Boulevard Riyadh City (BLVD RUH City), as well as visited historical areas in Riyadh. 

The opening ceremony was held by Prince Faisal bin Bandar Al Saud, President of the Saudi E-Sports Federation (SEF). Ambassador Fumio Iwai, Japanese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, and Koichi Hamamura, Vice President of the Japan E-Sports Federation, attended.  

Many others from Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Japanese entertainment and digital industry corporations were also in attendance.
