TOKYO: Moroccan Tourism Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor inaugurated the Gifu World Rose Garden in Gifu Prefecture with Governor FURUTA Hajime on Saturday during Rose Week, which runs from Oct. 8 to Nov. 13.
Minister Fatim-Zehra Ammor also met TETSUO Saito, Japan’s Tourism Minister in Tokyo and talked about boosting tourism relations. She was the first tourism minister to visit Japan after the easing of COVID border regulations.
During her visit in Tokyo, Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor had constructive talks with Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA) Vice Chairman SAKAI Atsushi and discussed concrete measures regarding exchanges with Morocco and future prospects.
The Moroccan Garden, a symbol of friendship between the Kingdom of Morocco and Gifu Prefecture, was unveiled after a major renovation. It displayed an authentic Moroccan garden created by 10 craftsmen from the Kingdom of Morocco using traditional techniques and materials.
A Moroccan-style market will be held from Oct.15 to 23.
