With the success of the Octo Finissimo watch, known as the world’s thinnest watch, BVLGARI has now collaborated with renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando and reimagined the infamous watch.
Ando redesigned the watch with concrete and other building material as his inspiration. The architect conveyed his architectural design in the limited-edition watch.
The Tadao Ando x BVLGARI Octo Finissimo Automatic Watch features a titanium bracelet and case, which houses BVLGARI’s ultra-thin self-winding mechanical movement with a platinum micro-rotor.
The matching dial showcases spirals, which are inspired by the concentric circles found in Japanese zen gardens. The watch is also rated waterproof up to 30 meters.
At the back of the watch, Ando’s signature and limited edition markings can be found, with only 200 watches being made.
Ando’s reimagined watch can be found on BVLGARI’s Japanese website, priced at ¥1,980,000 JPY (approximately $18,266 USD).
Ando is a self-taught architect, who is known for his minimalist building styles in which he has mastered concrete, geometry and light.
