
DUBAI: Japan’s Foreign Minister HAYASHI Yoshimasa met Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi during his visit to Saudi Arabia on September 7, and they discussed their intention to expand the Japan-Oman relations in different areas.
Hayashi said that he appreciates that Oman signed the preliminary agreement on long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) offtake with Japan last year, stating that Oman’s stable supply of LNG is important.
Both ministers showed great interest in cooperating in the area of renewable and traditional energy.
Sayyid Badr said that he is confident that Japan will comply with international standards regarding the recent discharge of the ALPS-treated water.
Japan and Oman marked their 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations last year. The two countries are committed to strengthening their relationship in the future.
