TOKYO: Hundreds of demonstrators gathered near the American embassy in Tokyo on October 18, demanding an end to the American “unconditional military and financial support” to Israel.

The protestors shouted slogans criticizing American policies in the Middle East “that is against the Palestinians, that also ignored the UN resolutions.”

Speakers at the demonstration also requested the departure of the US aircraft carriers and warships stationed in the Mediterranean Sea and said the American military goal is to attack the Palestinians and Arabs.

Police cornered the embassy and prevented two Japanese protesters from approaching its premises to convey a message of condemnation of American support of Israel.

Some demonstrators displayed photos of the 500 victims of the bombing of Gaza’s Al Ahli; others expressed anger at the US alliance with Israel against the Palestinians.

Activists made speeches echoed in the surrounding buildings and denounced the United States’ support of Israel’s plans to empty Gaza from the Palestinians in what they called “the second Nakba.”
