TOKYO: Japan says that, based on the evidence it has so far, the destruction at the Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza on October 17 was not a result of action by Israel.
At a press conference on Wednesday, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Press Secretary KOBAYASHI Maki stated: “Regarding the cause of the October 17 attack on Al-Ahli Hospital in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in numerous casualties, the Israeli side and the Hamas/Islamic Jihad side have different claims. It is difficult to make a conclusion based solely on the claims of the parties involved.”
“Based on this, Japan has fully considered the various information that has been confirmed so far and has made a comprehensive judgment that this incident was not caused by an attack by the Israeli military.”
The Israeli military occupation claims that the hospital was damaged by an errant missile launched by Palestinian Islamic Jihad, while the Palestinians say it was a missile attack from the Israeli military.
Hundreds of civilians reportedly died in the attack.
