TOKYO: Japan’s Sankei Shimbun newspaper on Thursday reported that a group claiming to be a Pakistani hacker collective posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Wednesday, stating: “We have initiated attacks on Japan.”
According to the report, the group said it has launched cyberattacks targeting major Japanese companies and organizations, including Keidanren, the Japan Business Federation.
The group also claimed to have attacked the websites of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party and leading telecommunications company NTT PC Communications, the newspaper reported.
The group said the reason for these claimed attacks was “because Japan is using Israeli-made systems,” among other justifications.
Last year, the defense ministers of Japan and Israel agreed to promote cooperation on defense equipment and technology.
