TOKYO: Demonstrations targeting the G7 and Israel continued in Tokyo with protestors gathering near Iikura Guest House, where the Foreign Ministers of the Group of 7 (G7) are meeting for two days of talks.
Protestors with banners were vocal in shaming American Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
The seven ministers had a working dinner session on Tuesday night with an agenda of multiple topics to be discussed on Wednesday. A joint document is expected to be released.
A Japanese protester told Arab News Japan that her country should focus on Asia, rather than the G7, which she said is supporting wars and profiting big corporations.
Demonstrators also continued to denounce Israel for its occupation of Palestine and for committing “genocide” against the Palestinians. They demand Israel stop the killing of children and civilians and insist on an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
Buddhist monks participated in the gathering, praying for peace, while students and other groups called for a Free Palestine.
