SAN FRANCISCO: Japanese Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio and his Canadian counterpart, Justin Trudeau, Thursday agreed to work together to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza Strip.

While condemning Hamas’ attacks on Israel, Kishida and Trudeau affirmed cooperation toward achieving Middle East peace based on a two-state solution in which Israel and a Palestinian state coexist.

The two leaders also agreed that Japan and Canada will maintain strict sanctions on Russia over its invasion of Ukraine and continue providing support to Ukraine.

In their meeting held on the sidelines of the summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in San Francisco, Kishida and Trudeau affirmed that they will work closely on dealing with China and North Korea.
