TOKYO: The Japanese government expressed its concern about “inflammatory and irresponsible remarks” made by Israeli ministers advocating for the resettlement of Palestinians outside of the Gaza Strip and their plan to occupy the strip and establish new settlements there.
“Settlement activities by Israel are in violation of international law and undermine the viability of a two-state solution,” the foreign ministry said in a statement on Friday, confirming the position of Japan that considers Israel and its illegal settlements on Palestinian occupied land as violating international law.
“Taking into account the critical humanitarian situations in the Gaza Strip, such inflammatory remarks by the Israeli ministers that increase tensions are unacceptable, and Japan calls for Israel to refrain from irresponsible words and actions” stated the foreign ministry.
