Arab News As the new coronavirus COVID-19 affects 73 countries worldwide, Japan is adjusting with mass school closures and preventative measures. The total number of infections in Japan include 250 cases, with 12 fatalities as of March 2. The total excludes the 706 cases, which were on the Diamond Princess cruise ship. Here are the number of cases according to each prefecture in Japan:

According to Japanese media NHK World, the health ministry announced Monday that 57 patients infected with the virus are in serious condition, 34 of those from the cruise ship. 43 of the cases have recovered and left the hospital.
