TOKYO: Japan on Tuesday welcomed the adoption of the United Nations Security Council resolution（UNSCR）2735 on the situation in Gaza calling for the release of the Israeli hostages and the ceasefire and urging Hamas and Israel to fully implement its terms without delay or conditions.
A statement by Foreign Minister KAMIKAWA Yoko said Japan strongly urges both parties to implement this resolution “in good faith.”
Japan voted in favor of this resolution.
Kamikawa said Japan will continue to make diplomatic efforts actively and persistently, and will reach out to the countries concerned, from the perspective of what the most pragmatic approach is to improve the situation.
