TOKYO: The number of new COVID-19 cases in Japan in the week ended Sunday decreased from the previous week, the first decline since the week ended on May 5, the health ministry said Friday.
The ministry said the number of new cases reported by 5,000 regularly-monitored hospitals across the country fell to 13.29 per institution from 14.58 in the previous week.
Saga topped the list of prefectures, with 27.82 new cases, followed by Nagasaki’s 21.34 and Aichi’s 20.1.
