TOKYO: Demonstrators held a protest in the busy Shibuya district of Tokyo on Sunday against Israel’s bombing of a school in Gaza that killed nearly 100 people.

The demonstrators demanded an end to Israel’s indiscriminate attacks on civilians in the Gaza Strip, waving banners declaring “No More War,” “Save Gaza”, “stop Genocide”, and “Ceasefire now!”

They also chanted slogans such as, “Israel, USA how many kids you killed today?” “Israel shame on you,” “Stop the massacre of Palestinians” and “Wanted for War Crimes” against a backdrop of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Alongside the protest supporting Gaza was a single person holding an Israeli flag. He stood close to the riot police on duty.

Israel’s military occupation has killed more than 40,000 people in Gaza, half of them children, one banner wrote.
