
DUBAI: International travelers chose Japan as the country they most wished to revisit due to its food, culture and natural landscapes, according to a recent survey by Dentsu Inc.
In their responses to an online survey conducted from January to March, Japan came first on the list at 36.4 percent, followed by Singapore at 14.7 percent and the US at 13 percent.
South Korea ranked fourth at 10.5 percent and Britain fifth at 10.4 percent, according to the survey which collected responses from 7,460 people aged 20 to 59.
The 15 countries and areas surveyed were the UAE, US, Australia, Britain, China, Germany, France, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
28.6 of respondents said the diverse food scene tempted them to visit Japan again, 27.9 percent said it was the country’s culture and 25.6 percent were drawn to the landscapes.
They also chose Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Hokkaido as the top five destinations for tourists in Japan, which Dentsu said has been the same since 2016.
