DUBAI: Japan’s Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs KOMURA Masahiro on Friday said Japan has built a “relationship of trust” with Africa through the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD).
Speaking at the TICAD Ministerial Meeting’s thematic event “Innovation in Africa,” Komura said the cooperation with the concerned parties and with a dynamic Africa, Japan will continue to promote solutions to mutual challenges through the TICAD process.
He also expressed his hope for a meaningful discussion on how the ever-advancing technology and science will affect the development of the African continent today to President Marwala of the United Nations University, who moderated the panel discussion.
He concluded his opening remarks by expressing Japan’s will to continue working with our African friends to build a bright future for Japan, Africa, and the world.
TICAD celebrated its 30th anniversary this year.
