TOKYO: North Korea says military support for Ukraine, especially by the United States, is a “dangerous gamble and an irresponsible act” that could lead to a major disaster.

A statement by Kim Yo-jong, Vice Director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, accused Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky of a “disgraceful accusation against our country at the UN Security Council.”

“The evil Zelensky gang, who are recklessly misusing all the weapons handed over by the US and the West to slaughter innocent Russian citizens, have made the ridiculous, reckless, and unjustified remark that our country is an ‘accomplice’ in the Ukrainian war,” Kim said. “It is a political provocation that does not make sense and is reckless. The world is beginning to tire of Zelensky’s cheap tricks.”

Kim said US support for Ukraine with “astronomical amounts of military equipment” is pushing the world toward a “cruel nuclear disaster” and is a “deliberate attempt to escalate the situation” that could push Europe into a nuclear war.

“The recent announcement by the US that it will once again provide $8 billion in military aid to the neo-Nazi puppet regime in Ukraine is a grave mistake and a foolish act,” Kim stated, adding that the West is “playing with fire” by provoking Russia.

“Helping Ukraine attempt further military adventures is a dangerous gamble and an irresponsible act that will drive many to cross their fingers and hope for the best to avoid a major disaster. If Zelensky’s reckless actions are not stopped now, a major disaster will be inevitable.”
