TOKYO: Japan’s government and ruling coalition officials are planning to convene a special parliament session to select the prime minister on Nov. 11, Kyodo news reported on Monday, citing multiple unnamed sources.

The lawmakers’ vote follows Sunday’s general election, where Prime Minister ISHIBA Shigeru’s scandal-tainted ruling coalition lost the lower house majority.
