TOKYO: Japan welcomes a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah, Chief Cabinet Secretary HAYASHI Yoshimasa said Wednesday.

Japan will strongly request that all parties concerned fully abide by the agreement and take utmost measures to ensure stability in the region, Hayashi said in a press conference.

He added that Japan highly appreciates and will continue to strongly support mediation efforts by the United States and France.
