TOKYO: Japanese Defense Minister NAKATANI Gen met with Rear Admiral Saif bin Nasser Al Rahbi, the Commander of Oman’s Royal Navy, on Thursday and expressed his gratitude to Oman for its cooperation with the Japan Self-Defense Forces’ counter-piracy operation in the Gulf of Aden.

Nakatani said he welcomed the development of defense cooperation between the two countries. 

Rear Admiral Al Rahbi said he looked forward to Oman and Japan deepening cooperation in the defense field.

The two sides agreed to further promote defense cooperation and exchanges.
