TOKYO: Graffiti written in English protesting Israel’s participation in the Osaka World Expo has been found on the exterior wall of the Osaka Prefectural Office Annex on March 30, Japanese local media reported.
A security guard at the Osaka Prefectural Office Annex called the police on Sunday morning to report that graffiti had been written on the wall.
According to the police, the graffiti words read: “PROTEST ISRAEL’S PARTICIPATION IN EXPO 2025” and “ISRAEL CONTINUES GENOCIDE!”
Skulls and crossbones were also painted next to the graffiti on the Osaka Prefectural Office Annex wall.
The police are investigating the case as a possible violation of the law.
The Osaka Expo, supported by the Japanese government, will open on April 13 and run for six months.
