TOKYO: Sixty companies have joined together to produce Live Japan, one of the country’s largest tourist information sites, which NTT Broadband Platform (NTTBP) says has been formed around the concept of “Sharing Japan’s Appeal with Global Travelers.”
The website offers information on tourism and related topics in up to eight languages and is integrated with NTTBP’s smartphone application “Japan Wi-Fi auto-connect,” which automatically connects users to free Wi-Fi available at locations such as local governments, public transportation, commercial facilities, and tourist sites across the country.
Japan Wi-Fi enables automatic connection to free Wi-Fi spots nationwide and is available in 16 languages. It supports Open Roaming, which enables users to connect to over 3 million Wi-Fi spots in Japan and abroad.
Live Japan became active on Thursday and provides access to information on topics such as sightseeing, dining, shopping, and accommodation.
Japan Wi-Fi’s integration with LIVE JAPAN aims at helping travelers easily access needed information and offers greater information than before, so helping the overall quality of travel and tourism in Japan.
