TOKYO: A demonstration was held outside the Israeli Embassy in Tokyo on Monday in support of Palestine and targeting Japanese companies who do business with Israel.

The demonstration was organized by the Muslim community in Japan, with the protesters accusing Israel of killing innocent civilians, especially children.

The protesters chanted slogans and help up banners with messages such as “Stop killing children,” “Stop the Genocide, “Boycott Israel” and “Free Palestine.”

One protestor held up a poster of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing him of being a war criminal and appealing to the Japanese government to support the arrest warrant against him issued by the International Court of Justice.

Another protestor held up a banner asking Trump to support the arrest of Netanyahu instead of supporting the Israeli prime minister.

One Japanese protestor said that although Japan and Palestine are far apart, the Japanese government and large Japanese corporations are connected to the Israeli government that is invading Palestine, as well as to Israeli companies. The Japanese people, he said, believe that they have a responsibility to urge the government and corporations to sever ties with Israel.
