TOKYO: Men account for over 70 pct of deaths linked to the new coronavirus in Japan, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said Thursday.
Men account for about 60 pct of the total infection cases, while a little more than 70 pct of the deaths are men, Suga told a press conference.
"It's unknown whether gender is a factor that leads to severe symptoms. Research will be carried out by experts," he added.
