Japan’s Emperor Naruhito met with Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on Thursday to discuss bilateral cooperation.

The Kuwaiti Crown Prince is visiting Japan and will attend the Osaka-Kansai Expo.

At the Imperial Palace, Sheikh Sabah expressed his gratitude for the support Kuwait received from Japan during the Gulf War.

The Emperor also expressed his gratitude for the support he received from Kuwait during the Great East Japan Earthquake.

The Crown Prince also said that Kuwait has received a lot of support from Japanese companies in oil development in Kuwait and has also received cooperation in seawater desalination technology.

He explained that Kuwait would like to continue to support Japanese companies so that they can continue to develop their cooperative relationship with Japanese companies.

The Emperor said that he hopes that the Crown Prince’s visit to Japan will further develop the relationship between the two countries.
