

TOKYO: Japan’s Foreign Minister IWAYA Takeshi met with Mohammed Al-Amour, Minister of National Economy of Palestine, on June 2.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Iwaya warmly welcomed Minister Al-Amour’s visit to Japan in conjunction with Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, and reaffirmed Japan’s consistent support for a two-state solution and its commitment to assisting Palestine in its state-building efforts.
In response, Minister Al-Amour expressed his gratitude for the invitation to the Expo and for Japan’s steadfast support for Palestine.
The two ministers also exchanged views on the current situation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, with a particular focus on the economic viability of Palestine.
Minister Iwaya emphasized the importance of reaching an agreement on the release of hostages and a ceasefire in Gaza, and outlined Japan’s initiatives aimed at bolstering the stability and resilience of the Palestinian economy.
Minister Al-Amour, in turn, expressed appreciation for Japan’s principled stance on regional and international issues and its longstanding support for Palestine.
