SERIZAWA Kiyoshi, Ambassador of Japan to Oman, received a courtesy call from Shota Takashiro, Commanding Officer of JS Asahi, as well as Shogo Tokunaga, Leader of the Japan Coast Guard’s Somalia Dispatched Investigation Team. 

JS Asahi is currently serving as the 50th Deployment Surface Force for Counter-Piracy Enforcement, which is Japan’s Maritime Self-Defense Force’s operation dedicated to counter-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden. 

The Somalia Dispatched Investigation Team is part of Japan’s efforts to enhance regional maritime security in Somalia.

The ambassador wished both commanders safe and successful journeys in their upcoming missions.
