TOKYO: Leaders of the Group of Seven major industrial countries Thursday agreed on the need to make preparations to reopen the global economy once the coronavirus pandemic is brought under control.
At a videoconference that the G-7 leaders held to discuss a response to the pandemic, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe called for international support to countries with a weak health care system.
Abe also stressed the need to promote the development of treatments for the virus, share information transparently and swiftly and build an economy resilient to crises.
