About 400 health and union workers protested in front of the health ministry and the Prime Minister’s office in Tokyo on May 1.

Protestors shouted slogans that they needed masks, gloves and ventilators to support the overwhelmed healthcare system.

The Japanese healthcare facilities have been stressed with the increasing amount of infected people amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Doctors protesting are saying they do not feel protected enough and need more protective gear such as N95 masks.
