Japan's Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi has said it would be important to review measures taken by the international community in battling the new coronavirus pandemic.
He made the comment during Monday's teleconference of foreign ministers from six friendly countries to the United States that was convened at the request of U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for discussing ways to respond to the virus crisis.
Motegi's position was supported by other nations.
The participants from Japan, the United States, Australia, Brazil, India, Israel and South Korea also agreed to continue working closely together over coronavirus measures.
According to the Japanese Foreign Ministry, the United States asked countries that share the common awareness about the challenges facing the international community to participate in the meeting.
