TOKYO: The Japanese government may introduce a smartphone app informing users of the possibility of close contact with coronavirus patients as early as this week, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said Monday.
"We're in the final phase of the app's development," Suga told a press conference.
The top government spokesman also said, "It's a safe app that acquires absolutely no personal information, so we hope many people will utilize it."
